General Information

We decided to move our duck area towards a unique and unexploited area where the rice is the main crop; the other areas in the country are overhunted. The particular operation we have has an incredible area of more than 16,000 acres, of the best rice crop and marshes of the Rio Uruguay. Ducks are in big numbers, mainly in the early season. Ducks are in big numbers, mainly in the early season. The Rio Uruguay native forest is roost for thousands of pigeons, which makes it a very good combina-tion with ducks. Perdiz is other specie located in the grazing land provided by the resting rice fields. Doves are also in the area and will be part of the game birds. The hunt in this area is mainly for the best Duck and Pigeon available. We hunt ducks in the marshes and flooding lagoons used for the rice fields. We use decoys, motorized and regular according with the ducks reaction and weather conditions. We hunt two guns per blind and blinds are at least 200 meters apart, sometimes more. Each blind will have a guide and a retriever. The shooting limit is three boxes of 25 shells per hunter each morning. In a regular morning, you will be done by 9 am. We hunt all species listed as game birds, which includes the Pouchard, Teals, Widgeons, and Pintails. When 50% of the group is done with their shells, all the group have to quit hunting no matter if the shells have not been finished. Pigeons are in good numbers in the area. We will hunt them over decoys in Stuble of rice fields or in sorghum fields. Sometimes will shoot them passing. We give five boxes of 25 shells for pigeons per hunt, generally will have two hunts peer trip. Partridge is hunted with the best style and our finest Brittanys. It will be a nice hunt with 30 flushes per dog. Doves are abundant in the area and at least two good shoots can be done. Expect at least 10 boxes per hunter. This trip is the highest class of the market, combines air charter from Montevideo and Lodging at a Hot Spring bungalow complex or the ranch house located at 15 minutes of the hunting marshes.
